The United Kingdoms and United States age ratings of movies are different.

The UK:

-         - U: Universal, suitable for all

-        -  PG: Parental Guidance

-         - 12/12A: Suitable for 12 years and over

-         - 15: Suitable for 15 years and over

-         - 18: Suitable only for adults

The US:

-        -  G: General audiences

-        -  PG: Parental guidance suggested

-          -PG-13: Parents strongly cautioned

-        -  R: Restricted

-         - NC-17: No-one 17 and under admitted

The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) is an organisation that certifies movies.

Factors that make a film a certain rating:

-       -   Nudity

-        -  Bad language

-        -  Sex

-         - Drugs

-         - Discrimination

-         - Sexual violence/ threats

-          -Violence
